Principal's Message

Welcome et Bienvenue!

“Change is inevitable; growth is optional.” - John C. Maxwell

As we begin the 2020-21 school year, many of us are reflecting on the changes we’ve been experiencing in the world around us. At École Edwards, we too have been contemplating what living, learning and thriving together will look like and how we will choose to grow as a community of learners. We are very excited to continue the work we began last year to develop strong connections between students, staff, and the community while recognizing that the landscape in which we began this work has shifted, in small ways for some, and dramatically for others.

This is why we look forward to this year as an opportunity for change that will lead to growth in ways we have never seen before. One of the foundations that will help to bolster this growth is continued development of our House Teams program. Each student and staff member will belong to a team for the length of their time at Edwards and beyond. This program will go hand in hand with the Positive Behavior Intervention System (PBIS) work that teaches students the importance of our three pillars of being RESPECTFUL, SAFE, and RESPONSIBLE in every aspect of our school life.

We are also revisioning who we are as a school and what it means to be a team member of École Edwards. We look forward to working with students, staff, families, the community, our Tri-school partners, and Rocky View Schools to get feedback and thoughts about who we are and who we would like to become. Please stay tuned for opportunities to be involved in this very exciting work.

We are proud to be a bilingual school and to offer quality programming in English and French. Our staff work together to ensure students are supported in both languages in all subject areas including literacy, numeracy, and social emotional well-being.

As always, we will continue to ensure each student is given the opportunity to excel to the best of their abilities, understand who they are as students, and to try new things in order to develop critical thinking skills, cooperation skills, and resiliency for whatever may come their way.

Thank you for choosing to grow with us this year
