Parent Information

Welcome Parents and Guardians!

Volunteering

We love parent volunteers and are excited to welcome you into our school.

All volunteers however must have a recent criminal record check submitted to the school office. Follow details below.

If you would like to volunteer with Rocky View Schools a criminal record/vulnerable sector check must be completed. Please take a copy of the form to the RCMP detachment for processing and return the completed form to the office.

If you already have a criminal record check on file with us, it is valid for 5 years. A declaration form must be completed annually, please complete the attached form and bring it into the office prior to volunteering.

Please always make arrangements with your child's teacher or the office, so that we are prepared for when you are volunteering.

When your child is absent and unaccounted for, our automated attendance system will try to reach you. In order to facilitate this process, please ensure that you notify the school of any changes in your contact information.

PLEASE NOTE: If your child will be absent for several days, please notify the teacher and the office in advance. Also, please make every effort to plan vacations during school holidays so that students do not miss important instruction and learning experiences.

School Supplies

Parents are advised that school supplies for students in Grades K - 4 will be provided by the School. This model will ensure that students have access to identical supplies and cuts down on class time needed to organize and store each student’s supplies.  It also eliminates the issue of parents not being able to find requested items.

Grade 5 Students are required to provide their own school supplies. A list will be provided to students as well as be available at Staples.

Please don’t hesitate to call the school at 403-948-5922 if you have any questions.

Stay Up-To-Date and Involved!

There are many ways to be informed and involved as a parent. Please read emails from the school and your child's teacher. Be familiar with special projects, school events, or dress up days, as well as special hot lunch days and deadlines to order that lunch.

All parents and guardians are welcome to attend School Council meetings. This meetings are monthly, with the exception of a few months in the year, and they are hybrid meetings - in person and on zoom. These meetings are also recorded and posted on Facebook, to also keep you updated, if you can not attend. With each council meeting there is an RVS board report and a principal report, providing you updates and info to know. Being involved is also a great way to make connections and build friendships with new people. All school events are on our school calendar, on our website, and featured on our school council's facebook page. We also post learning activities on Twitter from time to time. There are many ways you can be connected with us and feel a part of the school.

We hope to see you at our school events, meetings, and other volunteering ooportunities. Thank you for all of your support at home in your child's learning! We appreciate it!
