Welcome to the Learning Commons!

My name is Colleen Brownell and I am our school's librarian.

We strive to meet the informational, recreational and educational needs of our students, teachers and staff.

Most importantly, we encourage children to love reading and books! This is developed by introducing libraries, books and stories to our students in a nurturing and vibrant atmosphere. Sharing read aloud books has always been an important part of our library program.

Older students learn to use our online catalogue and the Dewey Decimal Classification System to search for their favourite books.

Activities in our Learning Commons include:

• Author and illustrator visits
• Airdrie Public Library staff visits to share their programs with our students
• Scholastic  book fair
• Spring Fling Book Thing used book sale
